All architecture should strive to be the successful interpretation of a stated purpose or function (an idea) through simplistic design utilizing natural materials and a balance between indoor and outdoor spaces, thus creating a unique sense of place.

World travels and study of architecture, particularly in Asia, have been very influential in supporting this philosophy. The challenge has become one of bringing Eastern design principles to reality by means of Western construction methods.
